Home in the Sky

Brisbane, Queensland

Having recently left suburbia bound for a post-retirement city change, my clients knew exactly what they wanted in their new apartment. The brief was clear - to create a modern interior that featured purpose-built storage solutions.

Bespoke was the order of the day with The Home in the Sky.

To meet their style aesthetic and storage brief, we created a custom bedhead with integrated bedside tables, a custom designed entertainment unit, a study nook cleverly concealed behind retractable pocket doors, and a coffee station seamlessly attached to the existing kitchen.

Edgy wallpaper, detailed fabrics, and a slate feature wall were included to add colour, texture, and a layered feel to the interior.

A base colour palette of white, navy, blue, green, and grey was complimented with splashes of gold and natural timber.

The massive balcony, located on level 31, was zoned into key areas, with a raised timber deck added to establish an outdoor living room, artificial grass included to create a homely backyard feel, and an inviting daybed made the centre point of the space – a perfect play area for the grandkids.

The addition of a wine and cheese nook provided the perfect vantage point for my clients to relax at the end of the day and enjoy the majestic views from their Home in the Sky.
